Stag & Cask HANDMADE IN THE HIGHLANDS

HANDMADE IN THE HIGHLANDS

It started with the whisky.

Not a plan to start another company. Just good bottles that deserved better than sitting on a shelf.

The Andersons had the whisky. The Fothergills knew antler.

So they made something for it.

A piece of naturally shed Highland antler, worked by hand to hold the glasses and present the whisky properly.

People started asking where they could get one.

Stag & Cask came after.

A finished antler piece holding two Glencairn glasses

TWO FAMILIES

Whisky on one side. Antler on the other.

The Fothergills have worked naturally shed antler by hand for years.

The Andersons buy and hold whisky.

What started between the two families as a way of presenting a good bottle became the thing people kept asking about.

The idea has stayed remarkably simple ever since.

The antler doesn't decorate the piece. It is the piece.

THE MAKER

Andrew makes every one.

Andrew Fothergill has spent years learning how to work with a material that doesn't arrive straight, square or particularly interested in doing what it's told.

Every antler is different.

Different weight. Different shape. Different colour. Different character.

So every Stag & Cask is shaped, fitted and finished by hand in Andrew's workshop, one at a time.

Antler doesn't lend itself particularly well to a production line.

That's rather the point.

THE ANTLER

Dropped every spring. Picked up from the ground.

Fallow deer naturally shed their antlers each year and grow another set.

Ours are gathered from Highland estates, then cleaned and prepared by hand. We don't bleach them or try to make one look like another.

Some are lighter. Some darker. Some beautifully awkward.

When you order, we choose yours and send you a photograph before we begin.

You know your antler before it becomes your Stag & Cask.

WHAT WE HOLD TO

Four things, every time.

01

Naturally shed

Gathered from the ground on Highland estates. Never taken from the deer.

02

Made by hand

Shaped, fitted and finished in the workshop, one at a time.

03

Yours before it's made

We choose your antler and show it to you. We begin when you say so.

04

Numbered for life

Every finished piece gets its own permanent number. Not an edition — a record of which antler went where.

AND THE CASK

It started with the whisky. It was always going back there.

The pieces came first. Our own whisky will follow.

Two casks were already maturing before Stag & Cask had a name. More than a decade later, they're still there.

One day, what comes out of them will sit where this whole thing began — in front of the antler, with a glass beside it.

For now, we look in on them.

And leave them alone.

Nothing to buy yet, and we won't pretend otherwise.
